Brandied Elk Steaks
A simple, yet delicious way to prepare elk.
- 1 to 2 tablespoons Ducks Unlimited® Steak & Chop Seasoning & Rub
- 4 elk steaks (8 oz. each)
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- ¼ cup diced onion
- 3 tablespoons brandy
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 teaspoon light brown sugar
- 1/3 cup heavy whipping cream
Sprinkle Steak & Chop Seasoning & Rub on both sides of steaks. In large nonstick skillet, heat oil over medium-high heat. Add steaks and brown on each side for 1 to 2 minutes. Remove steak from skillet. Add onion and garlic; cook for 5 minutes. In a small bowl, combine brandy, brown sugar, and cream. Add to skillet and cook until liquid thickens. Return steak to skillet and cook to desired doneness. Place steaks on platter and spoon sauce over top.
